Attorney Ryan Shaw

Experienced Florida Workers’ Compensation Lawyer

Ryan Shaw was born and raised in Dunedin, Florida. Ryan attended Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, then earned his J.D. from St. Thomas University School of Law in Miami, where he was a member of Law Review and Moot Court. Ryan also competed nationally as an Oralist in the International Moot Court Jessup Competition. Ryan received the top student CALI excellence “book” award in both Advanced Legal Research and Trial Advocacy Practice. Ryan also clerked for the Honorable Judge Spencer Eig in the Eleventh Judicial Circuit and prosecuted multiple jury trials to verdict as a Certified Legal Intern with the Broward County State Attorney Office in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit.

Ryan worked as an attorney with the Office of Public Defender for the Sixth Circuit with involvement in over 75 jury trials, ranging from misdemeanors to first degree capital life cases.  Ryan spent seven (7) years exclusively in felony circuit court and received the “Best Advocate” award from the Statewide Public Defender College Program (2014); advocacy excellence award for the most jury trials in the Sixth Circuit, Florida (2015); and he also won “Attorney of the Year” in 2019 for all of Pasco County, Florida by the Sixth Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office. Ryan now focuses his practice on worker compensation litigation and complex first responder claims including PTSD claims and claims under the “Heart / Lung Bill”.
